The Joy of Being with the Deaf Community

Olga teaching craft making to deaf teachers and students

One of the great features of our newly concluded outreach at Kuje and Orodo is the art and craft making training for the Deaf students.
It is through this that we discovered three outstandingly talented students. Olga had fun teaching the Deaf students how to make beads, hats and bags, etc.

Miss Olga felt fulfilled that she couldn't hold back her joy. In a fecabook comment she wrote:

"Yes I had fun with my kids and i'm glad they enjoyed themselves. Watching them express themselves and exposing them to the world of art and craft it's so amazing ,i enjoyed every moment i spent with those kids and can't stop telling the story . It's the first of it's kind in their lives. Thanks S-DELI for making it happen and putting smiles on their faces."

  1. It was awesome seeing those beautiful works of arts and crafts made by the students who the society think they are disabled. Of course they are not, they are rather enabled!
